Everyone has been hugging their children just a little bit tighter since Friday’s horrific shooting in Connecticut. Hubby and I haven’t been actively following the media reports. For a number of reasons, but mostly because we don’t want to expose our kids to the 24-hour news cycle.
In an effort to avoid co-opting the grief of these parents as my own, I will step away from blogging about it. But this doesn’t mean any words are flowing for me, either.
So, instead, I will share some thoughts on Christmas written at a time before Friday.
- Anticipation. The Best Christmas Gift of All – from my archives on Life as a Human
- Blogger Traditions for the Holidays – just published, on SheKnows Canada
- My Christmas List is Short & Sweet – a poem from the Coffee with Julie archives
I’m looking forward to Christmas. It’s going to be such a nice time to relax and catch up with family and friends. If I squeeze you a little harder than usual though, you’ll know why.
